Substitute Certification Information
If you do not have a teaching or substitute license, you can apply for an Emergency Substitute License. These applications are submitted online at www.ksde.org to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), not through USD 506. Instructions for Emergency Substitute Online Application
New Subs please read the following carefully:
You will be assigned a district email. Generally, this email will consist of your first initial and
last name followed by @usd506.org unless otherwise specified. (Example: John Smith would be
jsmith@usd506.org) Your password will be labette506 and you will be prompted to change it
upon first log in. To sign in to your email just go to gmail.com In your inbox you will find an email from the absence management system to create
your account for online use. You will use your district email as your username and pick a
password of your choice.
