Labette County FFA Wins the Sam Brownback Sweepstakes Award

Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Labette County FFA Chapter recently competed in the Sam Brownback Sweepstakes competition held in Manhattan, Kansas. The Sam Brownback Sweepstakes Award is awarded to the chapter that had the best overall performance in State FFA competitions. When the final accumulation of contest points was compiled using scores of the five best placing teams of each chapter in the state, Labette County came out in first place.
The Labette County FFA Chapter had five state champion teams this past year. These teams are invited to represent the state of Kansas at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this October. The state-winning teams are Agricultural Sales, Agronomy, Entomology, Farm Business Management, and Parliamentary Procedure. Other high-ranking teams were the Nursery Landscape and Veterinary Science teams both placed second and the Ag Communications and Livestock Evaluation teams placing fourth.
