Labette County FFA Chapter Competes in Career Development Events

Four members of the Labette County FFA Chapter recently competed in Iola, Kansas, at the 2023 Southeast District FFA Agricultural Sales Career Development Event.  The Agricultural Sales Career Development Event prepares students for careers in the sales industry.  Students were required to research a product, develop a sales presentation, overcome buyer resistance, and close the sale.  In addition, students participated in a face-to-face practicum.  The customer relations practicum placed students in the role of a customer relations specialist.  The students met with a customer who had an issue with a product sold by the company that the students represent.  Students showed empathy and tried to resolve the issue with the product.  In the end, students should have retained the customer for future business.  Finally, the Agricultural Sales participants took a fifty-question test over the sales industry.

When results were handed out, Labette County was victorious. The results are as follows:
