LCHS Students Named Governor's Scholar

At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Holden Vail, son of Sam and Roxie Vail of Edna, and Lathe Smith, son of Patrick and Dr. Kolette Smith of Altamont, were selected to attend the 39th Annual Governor's Scholars Awards program on May 1, 20022, in Topeka. 2022 FFA State CDE Awards

The Labette County FFA Chapter recently traveled to Manhattan, Kansas to compete in the State FFA Career Development Events in Agriculture.  The level of competition in all contests was very high with schools competing for the right to represent Kansas at the National FFA Career Development Events in Agriculture next fall in Indianapolis.  The delegation sent by the Labette County FFA Chapter dominated the competition and earned the sweepstakes award for top FFA chapter in the state of Kansas.  Individual and team . . .

Vail Named Semi-Finalist for Coca-Cola Scholar

Labette County high school senior, Holden Vail, has been named a Semifinalist for the 2022 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program, moving to the next round of the selection process to become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college scholarship. Labette County FFA Parliamentary Procedure Teams Excel at Contest

The Labette County FFA Parliamentary Procedure Teams recently competed in the Southeast District Parliamentary Procedure Contest at Girard High School. Weeks of hard work and preparation paid off as the Intermediate team placed second and the Senior team placed first.
